Sustaining Families in Joliet
The Salvation Army is there every day, all year long, to serve the most vulnerable in our neighborhoods. We’re there to provide meals to those who are hungry, shelter to families living on the streets, safe havens for children after school and on the weekends, social services for families in need, rehabilitation for individuals facing substance abuse, and places to worship. In short, we transform lives.
And every day, you’re there to help us. You walk beside us and give of your time, efforts and financial gifts. We are forever grateful for your support.
Even within His grace, God hands us challenges, and we are now facing one. Unfortunately, we did not meet our Christmas Campaign goal – we saw a shortage of more than $100,000 in donations. Now we must ask you for an additional donation this month.
Perhaps you would consider donating a portion of your savings due to lower gas prices. According to some analysts, the average family could see a savings of $500 in fuel during this year. A donation of 10 percent – $50 – could help provide after-school homework help for school children, recreation programs that help young men develop valuable social skills while playing basketball, and food boxes to families struggling to give nutritious meals to their children.
